Spellcasting & Grimoires

A supplement for Cairn 2e that adds the ability, through hard work and spent gold, to build a Grimoire (bulky). Grimoires can hold up to 5 spells, and only take two inventory slots, however, they are expensive, rare, and dangerous to use.

This supplement slightly changes how spellcasting works, driving at the fact that magic takes a toll on those who dare to play around with it. It includes roll tables for spellcasting flaws, grimoire defects, and a system for tracking and removing strain from flawed magic being cast from its pages.

Feel free to use whatever parts of this you wish, whether its the whole supplement or just bits and pieces. Find what works for you in your games.

I recommend you try Cairn second edition as written before trying this supplement, as it does change some of the core mechanics.
